Entering the Kingdom

Two Essential Requirements for Entering the Kingdom

Jesus made it clear that faith alone is the key to entering the kingdom. But this faith must have two essential qualities:

A. Faith and Sincerity – The Childlike Attitude

"To come as a little child, to receive the bestowal of sonship as a gift; to submit to the doing of the Father’s will without questioning and in the full confidence and genuine trustfulness of the Father’s wisdom; to come into the kingdom free from prejudice and preconception; to be open-minded and teachable like an unspoiled child." (170:2.21)

What Does It Mean to Have Childlike Faith?

Trust in God’s Goodness – Just as a child trusts a loving parent, believers must have full confidence in God’s love and wisdom.

Receptivity to Spiritual Truth – The kingdom is entered not by intellect alone, but by a heart that is open to God’s leading.

Freedom from Prejudice – To truly understand divine truth, one must let go of preconceived ideas, fears, and biases.

Submission to God’s Will – This is not blind obedience but a willing surrender to what is right and true.

Jesus' Teaching on Childlike Faith:

The kingdom is not for the proud, the self-righteous, or the skeptical.

It is for those who humbly accept God’s love and guidance, just as a child trusts a loving parent.

Jesus' Words (Paraphrased from the Bible & Urantia Book):

"Unless you become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:3, 170:2.21)

B. Truth Hunger – The Thirst for Righteousness

"The thirst for righteousness, a change of mind, the acquirement of the motive to be like God and to find God." (170:2.22)

The Inner Drive to Seek God

A Deep Desire to Know God – Entry into the kingdom requires a genuine hunger for truth.

A Willingness to Change – This "change of mind" refers to repentance—a transformation of values from materialism to spiritual pursuit.

A Passion for Righteousness – To seek the kingdom is to seek to live as God would have us live.

Becoming More Like God – The ultimate goal is to grow in divine character, becoming more truthful, loving, and service-oriented.

Jesus' Teaching on the Hunger for Truth:

Those who earnestly seek truth will find it.

Those who desire to be like God will be transformed.

Jesus' Words (Paraphrased from the Bible & Urantia Book):

"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied." (Matthew 5:6, 170:2.22)

Responsiveness Spiritual

Michael of Nebadon, known as Jesus of Nazareth in his earthly incarnation, embodies and teaches spiritual responsiveness in The Urantia Book through his life, teachings, and personal example. His emphasis is on faith, love, and the conscious choice to align with the will of the Father.

Michael of Nebadon on Spiritual Responsiveness

  1. Faith as the Key to Spiritual Growth

    • Jesus Michael consistently teaches that faith is the gateway to divine communion and spiritual progress.
    • He emphasizes that God does not force belief but seeks willing hearts who open themselves to divine truth.
    • “The kingdom of heaven is not to be taken by storm; it is not to be obtained by force. The kingdom of heaven is at hand, and all who enter therein shall find abundant liberty and joyous salvation.” (137:8.7)
  2. The Role of the Father’s Will

    • Spiritual responsiveness means actively choosing to do the will of God, rather than just believing in God’s existence.
    • Jesus Michael lives as an example of complete submission to the Father’s will, teaching that this is the highest fulfillment of human destiny.
    • “The doing of the will of God is nothing more or less than an exhibition of creature willingness to share the inner life with God.” (111:5.1)
  3. Love and Service as Expressions of Spiritual Growth

    • Love is the greatest sign of spiritual receptivity. Jesus Michael teaches that those who truly know God will manifest divine love in their daily lives.
    • He tells his followers: “By this shall all men know that you are my disciples: that you love one another even as I have loved you.” (180:1.1)
    • Service to others is a natural consequence of being spiritually attuned to God’s presence.
  4. Childlike Trust and Simplicity

    • Jesus Michael often emphasizes that spiritual receptivity requires humility and a childlike openness to God.
    • “Except you become as a little child, you shall not enter the kingdom of heaven.” (158:8.1)
    • This does not mean blind faith but rather a trusting heart that is eager to learn, grow, and be led by divine truth.
  5. The Inner Presence of God – The Thought Adjuster

    • Jesus Michael teaches that the presence of God dwells within every person and that true spiritual growth depends on recognizing and responding to this inner guidance.
    • “The Father in heaven has given you his spirit to live within you, and if you will but submit your will to that spirit, you shall be led forth and up to the knowledge of God.” (133:4.9)
  6. Prayer and Worship as Pathways to Spiritual Sensitivity

    • Jesus Michael teaches that consistent prayer and worship strengthen spiritual awareness and deepen one’s connection to God.
    • He often retreats into solitude for prayer, showing that spiritual receptivity requires dedicated time with God.
    • “In worship, the soul of man looks toward the Father, and in this act of devotion the indwelling spirit of the Father unfailingly responds.” (143:7.3)
  7. The Kingdom of God is Within

    • Jesus Michael explains to his apostles in the 21st century that spiritual enlightenment is not about external rituals but an inner transformation that aligns a person’s will with God’s will.
    • “The kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but rather of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.” (140:8.3)

Practical Steps to Increase Spiritual Responsiveness (According to Jesus Michael)

  • Seek first the Kingdom of God – Prioritize spiritual values over material concerns.
  • Love unconditionally – Show divine love to all, even enemies.
  • Live by faith – Trust God’s plan even in times of uncertainty.
  • Practice prayer and worship – Stay connected to God through daily devotion.
  • Be of service to others – True greatness is in serving.

Michael of Nebadon (Jesus) taught that spiritual responsiveness is not about religious rules but about a living relationship with God, one that transforms a person from within and radiates outward in love, peace, and service.

Purposeful Living

Faith Leads to a More Meaningful and Purposeful Life

As faith becomes a living experience, it transforms how a person sees the world. Rather than living passively or reactively, a faith-driven person engages life with confidence, purpose, and spiritual joy.

Faith brings a deep sense of inner peace and assurance. It allows individuals to see beyond temporary struggles and recognize the higher meanings and purposes behind life’s events. This does not mean avoiding difficulties, but rather embracing life’s journey with a trust in divine guidance.

Furthermore, a life of faith is one of love and service. Those who experience real faith naturally become more compassionate, patient, and understanding. They feel connected to others and desire to uplift, support, and inspire.

Christ Michael Of Nebadon

Meanings

Faith is Strengthened Through Life’s Challenges

Doubt, hardship, and struggles are often seen as threats to faith, but Urantia Paper 102 presents them as opportunities for spiritual growth. Just as a tree grows stronger when exposed to wind and storms, faith matures when it is challenged.

A person who has never faced adversity may have faith in theory but has not yet experienced its true power. However, someone who has navigated difficulties—such as loss, uncertainty, or failure—while maintaining faith, knows from experience that divine truth is real.

The greatest faith comes from those who have walked through darkness and still trusted in the light. Every time an individual faces hardship with courage and inner trust, their faith evolves from belief into certainty.

Christ Michael Of Nebadon

Recognition of the Divine Reality

Faith emerges from the recognition of divine reality and deepens as individuals act upon their inner spiritual convictions.

Verily do I assert that faith must be experienced and lived, not merely discussed or understood in an abstract way. When a person sincerely seeks truth and strives to live a moral and loving life, their faith expands, becoming more real and substantial.

The Evolution of Faith Through Experience

Faith is not something that appears fully formed—it evolves and grows through experience.

Life presents challenges, doubts, and struggles that test faith, and it is through these experiences that faith becomes stronger. Instead of seeing difficulties as obstacles, the paper encourages viewing them as opportunities for spiritual growth.

Each time a person chooses faith over fear, they reinforce their spiritual connection. As faith matures, it shifts from being dependent on external validation to being internally certain and self-sustaining. This process transforms faith from belief into knowledge—not knowledge in the scientific sense, but a profound, inner knowing of divine truth.

The Thought Adjuster and Inner Spiritual Guidance

A central teaching of The Urantia Book is that every person is indwelt by a Thought Adjuster, a fragment of God that guides and nurtures spiritual growth. Urantia Paper 102 highlights that this divine presence actively works to expand a person’s faith by helping them recognize higher truth and align with God's will.

The more an individual trusts and follows the guidance of the Thought Adjuster, the more their faith deepens. This alignment leads to a greater awareness of divine reality, making God’s presence feel increasingly real and personal. Over time, the individual becomes more attuned to the higher meanings and values of existence, resulting in a stronger sense of purpose and inner peace.

Thine Fertile Soil for Growth Actualization

The soil essential for religious growth presupposes a progressive life of self-realization, the co-ordination of natural propensities, the exercise of curiosity and the enjoyment of reasonable adventure, the experiencing of feelings of satisfaction, the functioning of the fear stimulus of attention and awareness, the wonder-lure, and a normal consciousness of smallness, humility. Growth is also predicated on the discovery of selfhood accompanied by self-criticism—conscience, for conscience is really the criticism of oneself by one’s own value-habits, personal ideals.

Urantia Communion

This passage from the Urantia Book is rich with concepts about spiritual growth. Here's a deeper exploration of the ideas presented:

1. "The soil essential for religious growth presupposes a progressive life of self-realization..."

 * Soil Analogy: The metaphor of "soil" is crucial. It implies that spiritual growth isn't something that happens instantly, but rather requires a nurturing environment and the right conditions to take root and flourish. Just as a seed needs fertile soil to grow, spiritual development needs a receptive and conducive inner landscape.

 * Progressive Self-Realization: This emphasizes that understanding oneself is a journey, not a destination. It's a continuous process of uncovering layers of your being, becoming aware of your motivations, strengths, weaknesses, and potential. This self-awareness is the foundation upon which religious growth is built.

2. "...the co-ordination of natural propensities..."

 * Natural Propensities: These are your inherent tendencies, inclinations, and desires. They are part of your human nature.

 * Co-ordination: This implies balance and harmony. It's not about suppressing your natural desires, but rather understanding them and integrating them into your spiritual life in a healthy way. It's about aligning your will with your higher purpose.

3. "...the exercise of curiosity and the enjoyment of reasonable adventure..."

 * Curiosity: A thirst for knowledge and understanding is essential for spiritual growth. It drives you to seek answers, explore different perspectives, and deepen your understanding of the world and your place in it.

 * Reasonable Adventure: This suggests a willingness to step outside your comfort zone, to embrace new experiences, and to take calculated risks in your spiritual journey. It's about being open to growth and change.

4. "...the experiencing of feelings of satisfaction..."

 * Satisfaction: This highlights the importance of finding joy and fulfillment in your spiritual pursuits. It suggests that true religious growth is not about deprivation or suffering, but rather about experiencing a deep sense of contentment and purpose.

5. "...the functioning of the fear stimulus of attention and awareness..."

 * Fear as a Stimulus: This is a fascinating point. It suggests that fear, when understood and channeled properly, can be a catalyst for spiritual growth. It can prompt us to pay attention to our lives, to become more aware of our shortcomings, and to seek deeper meaning and purpose.

 * Attention and Awareness: Fear can motivate us to become more mindful of our thoughts, actions, and motivations. It can awaken us to the need for change and growth.

6. "...the wonder-lure, and a normal consciousness of smallness, humility..."

 * Wonder-Lure: This refers to the sense of awe and mystery that we feel when we contemplate the vastness of the universe and the mysteries of existence. It's a sense of wonder that draws us towards something greater than ourselves.

 * Humility: Recognizing our place in the grand scheme of things fosters humility. It helps us to acknowledge our limitations and to be open to learning and growth.

7. "Growth is also predicated on the discovery of selfhood accompanied by self-criticism—conscience..."

 * Discovery of Selfhood: This is the ongoing process of understanding who you truly are, beyond the surface level of personality and ego. It's about uncovering your authentic self and your unique purpose.

 * Self-Criticism (Conscience): This is the crucial element that ties everything together. Conscience, as defined in the passage, is the internal mechanism that allows you to evaluate your actions and motivations in light of your own values and ideals. It's the inner voice that guides you on your spiritual path.

In essence, this passage paints a picture of spiritual growth as a dynamic and multifaceted process that involves:

 * Continuous self-exploration:  Understanding your strengths, weaknesses, and motivations.

 * Balancing your nature: Integrating your natural tendencies into your spiritual life.

 * Embracing curiosity and adventure: Being open to new experiences and perspectives.

 * Finding joy and fulfillment: Experiencing satisfaction in your spiritual journey.

 * Learning from fear: Using fear as a catalyst for awareness and growth.

 * Cultivating wonder and humility: Recognizing your place in the universe.

 * Developing a strong conscience: Using your internal compass to guide your actions and choices.

This passage from the Urantia Book offers a profound and insightful perspective on the nature of religious growth. It emphasizes the importance of personal responsibility, self-awareness, and the continuous striving for higher ideals.

Responsiveness Divine

Spiritual Responsiveness in The Urantia Book

1. The Thought Adjuster’s Guidance

The Urantia Book teaches that each person has a divine fragment of God (the Thought Adjuster) within them, constantly guiding and inspiring them toward higher spiritual values.

Responsiveness to this divine presence depends on sincere faith, a desire for truth, and a willingness to align with God's will.

"The more man recognizes and follows the leading of the divine spirit, the more he becomes like God, and thus does man progress inward and upward toward the attainment of the destiny of divine perfection." (110:3.6)

2. Faith and Spiritual Receptivity

Faith is presented as the key to spiritual growth. It is not just belief in doctrines but an active trust in God's presence and guidance.

Spiritual receptivity is enhanced through prayer, worship, and selfless service to others.

"Faith is to religion what sails are to a ship; it is an addition of power, not an added burden of life." (159:3.8)

3. The Role of Free Will

Humans must willingly cooperate with divine influences. The Urantia Book emphasizes that God does not force spiritual growth; rather, individuals must open their hearts and minds to higher realities.

"The great problem of religious living consists in the task of unifying the soul powers of the personality by the dominance of LOVE." (100:6.8)

4. Love and Service as Indicators of Spiritual Growth

True spiritual responsiveness is reflected in love for others, unselfish service, and the fruits of the spirit, such as kindness, patience, and humility.

"The highest moral choice is the choice of the highest possible value, and always—in any sphere, on any world—that is to choose to do the will of God." (39:4.14)

5. Inner Transformation and Cosmic Consciousness

The more a person is spiritually responsive, the more they develop "cosmic consciousness"—an awareness of their place in the universe as a beloved child of God.

This transformation leads to peace, purpose, and an ever-growing desire to do good.

"Religion achieves its highest levels of human philosophy in that supreme desire to know the will of God and in the supreme satisfaction of knowing that one has achieved it." (102:3.4)

The Unfolding Vision

When I speak to you of the Kingdom of Heaven I am proclaiming your entrance into God the Supreme .. which we all share as One Deity.

I say unto thee that the Supreme God exists within the tension between the finite and the infinite. He is the bridge, the mediator, and the synthesizer of these seemingly opposing realities.

The finite experiences of all creatures, with their inherent limitations and imperfections, are gathered and transformed within the Supreme's evolving consciousness.

This process of the blossoming Kingdom allows the infinite potential of the Paradise Trinity to be progressively actualized within the time-space universes.

The Supreme God beloveds, therefore, is the arena where the infinite descends into the finite, and the finite ascends toward the infinite.

And we are participating in this great unforgettable unfoldment of consciousness and life.

The Supreme's role in cosmic sovereignty emerges as individuals grow in the priviledged accomplishment of doing God's Will.

As the Supreme evolves, he is progressively assuming greater cosmic sovereignty.

This is not a static rulership, but a dynamic and responsive governance that reflects the evolving realities of the grand universe.

His sovereignty is rooted in his experiential understanding of all creation, making it a compassionate and empathetic rule.

The Supreme's sovereignty is also tied to the unification of the grand universe, the harmonization of its diverse parts into a coherent whole.

The Supreme God and the meaning of time are woven indefinably together.

Time is a crucial factor in the Supreme's evolution. It is within the flow of time that finite experiences accumulate, contributing to his growth.

The Supreme's evolution gives meaning to time, transforming it from a mere sequence of events into a vehicle for cosmic progress.

And you are intended to be growing, expanding, awakening, and actualizing in and for and with and as .. God the Supremacy of existence.

The concept of the Supreme suggests that time is not a linear progression toward a predetermined end, but an ongoing process of creative evolution and immeasurable development.

Delving Deeper into The Urantia Book, Paper 115: "The Supreme Being"

Paper 115 of The Urantia Book is a profound exploration of the Supreme Being as an evolving deity, growing in response to the experiences of all finite creatures. This paper explains the nature of finite reality, the relationship between potential and actual existence, and how the Supreme unifies all of creation into a single divine expression.

The Three Levels of Reality

The Urantia Book describes reality as existing on three fundamental levels. The first is the Absolute level, where God the Father, the Eternal Son, and the Infinite Spirit exist as changeless, eternal, and self-existent beings. The second is the Finite level, which consists of evolving beings, material universes, and celestial personalities. The third is The Supreme, who is the unifying deity of all finite experiences. The Supreme Being is neither absolute nor infinite but is instead becoming—gradually taking form as the grand universe evolves.

The Supreme functions as a bridge between the absolute and finite levels. He represents the unfolding of divine reality within time and space, integrating the struggles, choices, and achievements of all beings into a unified divine expression. This makes Him different from the Universal Father, who exists beyond time and space in a state of absolute perfection.

The Nature of Potential and Actual Reality

In The Urantia Book, all reality exists in two states: potential and actual. The Universal Father contains all things in potential form, and through experience, the universes gradually bring this potential into actual reality. The Supreme Being is the evolving manifestation of this process.

A helpful analogy is that of a cosmic puzzle. Each finite experience, whether from a human, an angel, or a celestial being, is a piece of this puzzle. As time progresses and beings make moral and spiritual decisions, the Supreme gradually takes on a more complete and fully actualized form. Since the Supreme is still evolving, His sovereignty and personality are not yet fully realized.

The Supreme as the Unifier of Experience

A central role of the Supreme Being is to integrate and unify all finite experience. Every spiritual choice, intellectual pursuit, and physical evolution contributes to the growing Supreme. The Supreme is not merely an observer of creation; He is an active participant, absorbing and reflecting the total progress of time-space reality.

Each time a mortal being struggles toward truth, beauty, and goodness, it strengthens the Supreme. The collective experiences of human civilizations, celestial beings, and universe administrators are woven into the Supreme’s divine reality. The Supreme is thus the sum of all finite experience—the evolving, experiential expression of God in time and space.

The Almighty Supreme and the Actualization of Power

Although the Supreme Being is still emerging, The Urantia Book teaches that He will one day fully actualize as the Almighty Supreme, assuming direct sovereignty over the grand universe. At present, the Supreme is growing in spiritual power, but He does not yet have full control over finite universes. However, once the seven superuniverses reach a state of completion, the Supreme will exercise full divine authority.

At that point, the two aspects of the Supreme—His spiritual personality and His physical cosmic power—will merge. The Almighty Supreme represents the full realization of His cosmic sovereignty, while the Supreme Personality reflects His divine nature. This is an ongoing process, but once completed, the Supreme will function as the sovereign ruler of all finite creation.

Human Contribution to the Supreme’s Growth

One of the most unique teachings of The Urantia Book is that human beings directly participate in the growth of the Supreme. Every moral choice, act of love, and spiritual struggle adds to His evolution. When a mortal being chooses righteousness over selfishness, that experience becomes part of the Supreme’s reality.

Humans and other finite beings are, in a sense, co-creators of the Supreme. Our experiences contribute to His growth, and in return, the Supreme provides a growing sense of divine unity and meaning to all evolving beings. As we advance spiritually, we are not only progressing toward God, but we are also helping God become more fully realized in the universe.

The Future Destiny of the Supreme

Once the Supreme Being is fully actualized, He will take His place as the sovereign ruler of the perfected grand universe. At this point, all beings who have reached spiritual perfection will be able to experience the Supreme as a fully developed deity. This marks a significant shift in universal history, as perfected beings will then engage in new cosmic adventures beyond the grand universe.

The completion of the Supreme’s evolution will open new dimensions of divine experience for all created beings. Just as today’s ascenders seek to know God the Father, future perfected beings will seek to understand and experience the fully realized Supreme Being. This marks the next stage of spiritual progression in the vast, unfolding plan of God.

Conclusion

Paper 115 presents a revolutionary idea: the Supreme Being is not yet fully God—He is evolving. Unlike the Universal Father, who exists eternally in perfection, the Supreme is becoming perfect through the collective experiences of all finite beings. He is the divine synthesis of all time-space experience, absorbing every struggle, victory, and growth into His unfolding personality.

This means that your life, your choices, and your spiritual progress have a cosmic impact. Every act of truth, love, and goodness adds to the Supreme’s development. In a profound way, human beings are not just seeking God—they are helping to shape God’s evolving expression in the universe.

Faith of Jesus Michael

The Nature of Jesus Michael’s Faith

A. Absolute Trust in the Father

Jesus Michael’s faith was total and unwavering. It was not conditioned on external circumstances, personal success, or human validation—his faith remained steadfast regardless of joy or suffering, recognition or rejection, life or death. His entire being was rooted in the unshakable conviction that God is real, present, loving, and guiding all things toward divine fulfillment.

This trust was not dependent on miracles or signs; it did not seek proof or assurance. He did not need to see visible evidence of God’s work, nor did he require favorable outcomes to sustain his trust. His faith existed beyond doubt, standing firm even in the face of despair, betrayal, and the agonizing suffering of the cross. His ultimate surrender—"Father, into your hands I commend my spirit"—was the culmination of a lifetime of absolute reliance on God.

B. Living as a Son of God

Jesus Michael’s faith was not theoretical or philosophical—it was a lived experience of divine sonship. He did not just believe in God; he lived as a Son of God, fully aware of his divine origin and purpose. His faith led him to:

See every person as a child of God, worthy of love, respect, and service.

Live in the constant presence of the Father, responding to every challenge with divine wisdom.

Dedicate himself fully to revealing the Father’s nature to the world.

He saw the kingdom of God not as a future event, but as a present reality—something that is realized whenever a soul chooses to live by faith, love, and truth. He invited others not just to follow him, but to enter into the same relationship with God that he experienced.

C. Experiential Faith Beyond Doctrine

Jesus Michael’s faith was not based on religious doctrines, scriptures, or theological constructs—it was based on direct experience. He did not merely talk about God; he knew God as a living presence. His faith was:

Personal, not institutional—It was about his own relationship with the Father, not about a religious system.

Spiritual, not ritualistic—It was rooted in divine communion, not in performing religious obligations.

Active, not passive—It was not just belief in God; it was trusting God, living in God, and acting out of divine assurance.

His faith transcended human reasoning—it was an inner certainty that did not require logical proof. It was not blind faith but living faith—faith that produced action, transformation, and divine love.

Spiritual Growth

Spiritual development depends, first, on the maintenance of a living spiritual connection with true spiritual forces and, second, on the continuous bearing of spiritual fruit: yielding the ministry to one’s fellows of that which has been received from one’s spiritual benefactors. Spiritual progress is predicated on intellectual recognition of spiritual poverty coupled with the self-consciousness of perfection-hunger, the desire to know God and be like him, the wholehearted purpose to do the will of the Father in heaven.

Spiritual growth is first an awakening to needs, next a discernment of meanings, and then a discovery of values. The evidence of true spiritual development consists in the exhibition of a human personality motivated by love, activated by unselfish ministry, and dominated by the wholehearted worship of the perfection ideals of divinity. And this entire experience constitutes the reality of religion as contrasted with mere theological beliefs.

Religion can progress to that level of experience whereon it becomes an enlightened and wise technique of spiritual reaction to the universe. Such a glorified religion can function on three levels of human personality: the intellectual, the morontial, and the spiritual; upon the mind, in the evolving soul, and with the indwelling spirit.

Spirituality becomes at once the indicator of one’s nearness to God and the measure of one’s usefulness to fellow beings. Spirituality enhances the ability to discover beauty in things, recognize truth in meanings, and discover goodness in values. Spiritual development is determined by capacity therefor and is directly proportional to the elimination of the selfish qualities of love.

Actual spiritual status is the measure of Deity attainment, Adjuster attunement. The achievement of finality of spirituality is equivalent to the attainment of the maximum of reality, the maximum of Godlikeness. Eternal life is the endless quest for infinite values.

The goal of human self-realization should be spiritual, not material. The only realities worth striving for are divine, spiritual, and eternal. Mortal man is entitled to the enjoyment of physical pleasures and to the satisfaction of human affections; he is benefited by loyalty to human associations and temporal institutions; but these are not the eternal foundations upon which to build the immortal personality which must transcend space, vanquish time, and achieve the eternal destiny of divine perfection and finaliter service.

Jesus portrayed the profound surety of the God-knowing mortal when he said: “To a God-knowing kingdom believer, what does it matter if all things earthly crash?” Temporal securities are vulnerable, but spiritual sureties are impregnable. When the flood tides of human adversity, selfishness, cruelty, hate, malice, and jealousy beat about the mortal soul, you may rest in the assurance that there is one inner bastion, the citadel of the spirit, which is absolutely unassailable; at least this is true of every human being who has dedicated the keeping of his soul to the indwelling spirit of the eternal God.

After such spiritual attainment, whether secured by gradual growth or specific crisis, there occurs a new orientation of personality as well as the development of a new standard of values. Such spirit-born individuals are so remotivated in life that they can calmly stand by while their fondest ambitions perish and their keenest hopes crash; they positively know that such catastrophes are but the redirecting cataclysms which wreck one’s temporal creations preliminary to the rearing of the more noble and enduring realities of a new and more sublime level of universe attainment.

Meaning

The Meaning of Earthly Life in Light of Eternity

Understanding that eternity is the outgrowth of righteous earthly striving imbues every aspect of life with new meaning and purpose. No longer is suffering seen as pointless, nor is sacrifice regarded as wasted effort. When viewed through the lens of spiritual progress, even life’s difficulties become essential parts of the soul’s training, preparing individuals for higher responsibilities and greater spiritual understanding. The hardships that once seemed unfair now appear as opportunities for growth, and the struggles of daily life become a sacred process of refinement.

Jesus Michael teaches that no effort toward righteousness is ever lost. Even the smallest act of kindness, the quietest moment of faith, or the simplest choice to uphold truth has cosmic significance. The development of the soul is not measured by worldly success, but by the expansion of love, wisdom, and moral courage. What appears insignificant in the material world can hold profound spiritual weight, shaping the eternal identity of an individual in ways that cannot yet be fully understood.

This realization liberates individuals from the fear of insignificance. Many people wonder if their efforts matter, if their sacrifices make a difference, or if their struggles are seen by God. Jesus Michael assures them that every righteous choice ripples into eternity, that their spiritual progress is actively shaping their future, and that their faithfulness is aligning them with the divine will in ways that will one day be revealed.

The Cosmic Implications of Spiritual Growth

Jesus Michael’s teaching also expands human perspective beyond Earthly life, encouraging individuals to see themselves as part of a vast, evolving universe filled with meaning, opportunity, and purpose. The kingdom of God is not just about personal salvation; it is about becoming a conscious participant in the divine administration of the cosmos. Those who develop spiritually in this life will continue their journey of growth and service in the ages to come, contributing to the unfolding of divine realities in ways beyond human comprehension.

This understanding inspires a higher standard of living. Knowing that life is the beginning of an eternal adventure, people are encouraged to live with greater integrity, compassion, and spiritual focus. The pursuit of righteousness is no longer seen as a burden but as a privilege, a way to align with the divine plan and step into one’s full spiritual potential.

Living with an Eternal Perspective

To fully embrace this teaching, individuals must shift their mindset from short-term thinking to an eternal perspective. Instead of making choices based solely on comfort, convenience, or personal gain, they must begin to evaluate their actions in terms of their lasting spiritual impact. Every interaction, every challenge, every relationship becomes an opportunity for soul growth.

Practical ways to live this truth include:

Prioritizing spiritual development over material accumulation.

Viewing challenges as opportunities to strengthen faith and character.

Committing to lifelong learning in wisdom, truth, and service.

Practicing love and compassion as the highest form of righteousness.

Trusting that every act of goodness contributes to one’s eternal progress.

Ultimately, Jesus Michael calls humanity to embrace their noble destiny, to recognize that life on Earth is not an isolated existence but part of an expansive, eternal journey. The pursuit of righteousness is not merely for this world—it is the very preparation for the endless realities of the next. Through faith, love, and perseverance, individuals lay the foundation for their eternal identity, stepping into the vast and beautiful purpose designed for them by God.
